Setting Up E-mail Aliases/Forwarding

E-mail aliases or e-mail forwarders are e-mail addresses which forward all received e-mails to another existing e-mail address or mailbox. All Cloud Hosting accounts have unlimited e-mail aliases. This article presents step by step instructions on creating e-mail aliases for your domain.

  1. Log in to your cPanel control panel. Please view this article for instructions on how to log in to cPanel.
  2. Scroll down to the Email section and click on Forwarders.
  3. Click on Add Forwarder.
  4. Under Address To Forward, enter your desired e-mail address without the domain. Select the appropriate domain in the Domain box if you have more than one domain hosted on your account.
  5. To forward all received e-mails to another e-mail address, enter the full e-mail address (user@domain.ext) under "Forward to Email Address". To discard all received e-mails, select "Discard and send an error to the sender" and optionally, enter a custom failure message. Click Add Forwarder and you're done.

You do not need to do anything in particular to set up your e-mail client to receive e-mails sent to e-mail aliases, as long as you have properly set up your e-mail client to access the mailbox that the alias forwards to.
